Those task-per-minute numbers are the real story: under two minutes per numeracy item and about 15 seconds per verbal statement. cut-e tests are short and dense — the format itself is the difficulty, and it's why untimed question-bank practice underprepares people for the clock.
For the figural core — spatial, grid logic, concentration — item memorisation is worthless (items are generated fresh for everyone) but fluency compounds: the method for reading a gyro + relative-bearing pair is identical on item 1 and item 500, and speed comes from repetitions.
